2010 [competition]

Icosis entered this proposal into a design competition to create a bird hide by the banks of Loch Fleet. Our proposal was formed in collaboration with Real Wood Studios and The Centre for Timber Engineering at Napier University, and aimed to explore how local Scots Pine could be used in an innovative way.

The design of the hide would maximise off-site construction to reduce the disruption to wildlife and visitors. The splayed form allows for views in excess of 180º while the louvers create openings for viewing at a variety of heights.
